Agricultural/Farming Events are incredibly important to our farming industry today. Though they have been around for many, many years the events as we know them started as informal meet ups for those in rural areas to learn new skills, often pertaining to the care and rearing of animals, cooking, or craft. Meetings were mostly thrown in randomly available to use field spaces, that is until agricultural societies took ground and purchased land to be specifically used.
So, while the agricultural shows we have today still take their roots from many of the practices in which they originated from, they have also greatly evolved with the times.
The shows/events spread awareness, boosts interest in local food and farming and importantly helps those who work in the industry become more integrated into the community and even a little further to the surrounding urban areas.
Not only this but events that target business to business specifically are an integral way to network, and boost business and trade within the industry.
Below you will find many varied businesses, all of whom have attended/still attend these featured events in order to support their business as well as other attending businesses.

At Recrafter’s Cottage we love using recycled materials as much as possible.
Our baskets are made using cotton rope which is created using waste cotton from the textiles industry. No water or toxic chemicals are used in turning this cotton into rope. No dyes are used either, instead textiles are cut into smaller pieces which are then shredded until a sort of dust is formed.
